Me working at my first anvil I ever bought. The stand is less than ideal but it served me well for 2 years.

About The Smith

Hello, my name is Joey. I started forging almost three years ago. What really drove my interest learning to forge steel was my interest in history and making things with my hands. This manifested itself when I built a longbow my senior year of college. After that project I was hooked on making things and after just two introductory blacksmithing classes at a local maker space, I had an old beat up anvil and small propane forge ready in my backyard. While I have largely been pursing this as a hobby, I feel I have finally reached a level of quality with some of my work that allows me share it with others and offer it for sale.

About Caffiends Forge

The name Caffiends came out of a project that a friend and myself worked on while we were in high school. At the time we both drank a lot more soda than we probably should and quickly had accumulated a pile of soda cans around my friends room. I insisted that we needed to do something with them. 300 cans, a sheet of plywood, and many rolls of duct tape later, we had put together a small raft that could only hold one person at a time. We called our raft The Caffiend and the name has stuck around through many other projects. I have since traded in soda for coffee and you will usually catch me with a mug of coffee pretty much anytime there is work that needs to be done.
